56 Isaiah Part 2 (5)
The Lord loved us by all efforts
T Declaration of a blessing
@Isaiah expressed "Jacob" to other word "Israel" in Chapter 43, but he declares that it is according to the reason of that "For I have redeemed you;"(43:1). If there was not such a grace of God, Jacob would have continued the insincere step that is not understanding a pain of a person. Such Jacob occurs at the same time in our figure, and we feel here that a human being can not change by oneself at all. However, if there is intervention of God, we can be changed. Particularly, when we watch recent various events, the intervention of God is looked forward to.
@This morning, it is from 44:21-28, but both appeals "Jacob " "Israel" are used here. "But now listen, O Jacob, My servant; And Israel, whom I have chosen:"(44:1), and this has the same way of speaking. And Chapter 44 of the texts of this morning are continuances from the beginning. It is said here, "I have chosen you", and it leads to the declaration of God which is saying in "The Lord who made you and formed you from the womb, who will help you,"(2) and "O Jacob, and Israel, for you are My servant; I have formed you, you are My servant,"(21). It is a declaration of blessing of God which is said thus, "For I will pour out water on the thirsty land And streams on the dry ground; I will pour out My Spirit on your offspring, And My blessing on your descendants; And they will spring up among the grass Like poplars by streams of water."(3-4). As for this different ways of saying from "Jacob" to "Israel, you may hear this is a way of speaking blessing of "you were Jacob, but to be people of an Israeli master now" settled in Chapter 43. Jacob is called Jeshurun in Verse 2, but it is a meaning of "straight" or "noble-minded". Scathing criticism that a human being made an idol of God, it is the same events inserted it in Verse 9-20 with "made", but it lets you compare two creation that such thing is different at all. The creation of God is accompanied with a real image of a blessing, I hear it will be with such a declaration.
U The Lord of atonement
@Surely such blessing of God seems to be a keyword to hear this message. "You are My servant."(21), and it is repeated with twice, but when we look at a centering on this keyword, a sound of saying with "the my child" and "person whom I love" are seemed to be loaded with "a servant". When it is so, you may have understood what was said "O Israel, you will not be forgotten by Me. I have wiped out your transgressions like a thick cloud, And your sins like a heavy mist."(21-22). A cloud and haze emphasize that a crime completely disappears and left, but I hear it is a blessing of realized God.
@By the way, we must learn that it is a domain of God to recognize that we have crimes, or there is no crime to us, too. That domain, it must be never invaded by human of us. However, we often shelve own problem, and find fault with a crime of another person. It is very disappointing that many earnest christians have such tendencies, but it is because they step into a domain of God with the name of faith, it is similar but will be nothing. When he is a head of a criminal, such person humbles himself in front of God, but when he stands before person, he carries himself to "a right person" in a moment and counts a bad place of other people. We must know it. Because we were not considered to be "right persons", but invited to a blessing of God@as "I do not accept a crime to you anymore".
@A blessing of God, "I have wiped your transgressions.", is lined to the declaration of "Return to Me, for I have redeemed you."(22). This "atonement" will be the central subject of here. This word is used intensively on Chapter 44(Verse 6, 22, 23, 24). About this word, I mentioned it on Chapter 43 last time, but I will repeat it once again. Originally, "atonement" was a law term in Israeli civil law and meant "to return his life and profit to an original state for that family, when someone loses land and becomes a slave and fell into an inconvenient state.", and the person who carried the compensation responsibility was the relative who was the nearest to the person concerned. When God said that "I redeemed you.", it was the declaration that "I will bear" that compensation responsibility, it would be said God will become the nearest for him. It was joy that God sacrificed oneself for us. Such joy of God seems to be dancing at Verse 23. "Shout for joy, O heavens, for the Lord has done it! Shout joyfully, you lower parts of the earth; break forth into a shout of joy, you mountains, O forest, and every tree in it; for the Lord has redeemed Jacob and in Israel He shows forth His glory."
V The Lord loved us by all efforts
@As for that God said to Jacob (You may hear it with us) "I redeemed you.", it will be to put body and soul. Perhaps, even if it is assumed by side job, we may not imagine what God does. God is an almighty One so far apart from us. The One insisted at Verse 24 "I, the Lord, am the maker of all things, stretching out the heavens by Myself, and spreading out the earth all alone," puts His all power not a side job, and He is going to bless us. We will try to watch one end of ardor of Him. "Causing the omens of boasters to fail, making fools out of diviners, causing wise men to draw back, and turning their knowledge into foolishness," (25) The present age that cannot help praising human splendor thinks that civilization progressed to here, must be modest before these words. "Conforming the word of His servant, and performing the purpose of His messengers."(26), perhaps, "servant" "messengers" said to here will be prophets. God lets prophets tell the future when people do not make a prediction either. When it is a plan of God and accomplishes it by all means, this may point at a message of Isaiah himself. "It is I who says of Jerusalem, 'She shall be inhabited!' And of the cities of Judah, 'They shall be built.' And I will raise up her ruins again."(26), "It is I who says of Cyrus, 'He is My shepherd! And he will perform all My desire.' And he declares of Jerusalem, 'She will be built,' and of the temple, 'Your foundation will be laid.'"(28) A message of this revival told to twice, when think that was told the past all the time that Jerusalem was infringed upon in Babylon, how eyes of God foresee to a former point and anxious about solace to Israel which was about to already lose hope, is not there the hot thought comes to, attending? And, in being surprised, a king of Persia named Cross is picked up here, it was the times after 140~150 years from Isaiah. "It is I who says of Cyrus, 'He is My shepherd! And he will perform all My desire.'"(28) I will take it up about Cyrus king next time in Chapter 45, but he became a leading figure of Jerusalem/Judea revival as a container of God.
@It is difficult to understand it only by watching Japanese translation, but, in fact, Verse 25-28 is in one long sentence. We have watched the contents now, but it is more important claim point of here that is said "God performs it", than it's contents. He plans some minutely, and is devoting all energy to the realization for us. It is said Jerusalem and towns of Judah, but it may move to us of the present age. So, as for this message, we must hear that this all energy throw is for us. Shall we pay more attention to the blessing love of the Lord who expiated us from our crimes by blessing of God and the cross?
